Thanks for that Phil, it brought back some memories. I worked in the South East for 5 years and was an hour's train journey from Charing Cross. I'd go up to Denmark St sometimes on a Saturday when I was looking for my first good guitar. There used to be a shop called Andy's with old second hand acoustics (Gibson, Martin, etc) up a rickety flight of stairs on the 3rd floor. There was also an old greasy cafe there, I remember Rick Parfitt (sports car parked outside) talking to someone who sounded like he gave him acoustic guitar lessons.

Andy’s was a wonderful shop but he kept going bust! In the end he just sold up. The cafe was great and for a long time the diminutive 12 bar blues club was my favourite haunt. Some geezer called Bert Jansch was the resident for a while.
