Been listening to a lot of Ray Wylie Hubbard of late, as well as the previously mentioned Colter Wall, & John Prine's new album.
Also RWH's fellow Texan James McMurtry (edit - the lyrics of this one are NOT SAFE FOR WORK):

PistolPete I'm liking that Choctaw Bingo. Is he in Open G? Martin Possibly. I thought it was DADGAD or open D, but I've never sat down and worked it out properly.

I pretty much think it's all brilliant, although it does get patchier the further back you go. But, yep, love hearing him solo too.

I pretty much think it's all brilliant, although it does get patchier the further back you go. I started with Loco Gringos Lament many years back, in fact when it first came out, mainly because of Dust of the Chase which I thought - and still think - is just brilliant. Lyrics, delivery, everything. Then he seemed to disappear for several years. I too delved into his back catalogue and there are a few dodgy early country / rockabilly tracks and albums, but they do all have some redeeming features. The fellow can certainly tell a story!

The Delines are a new band to me, if you like `Americana`, Gillian Welch etc. Then you might find them to your liking, They are currently tour the UK and Ireland.

Our daughter turned us on to Billie Eilish a couple of years ago, fantastically talented young lady. Debut album drops in a week or two I think. We bought her debut EP on vinyl a couple of weeks ago, and can't stop playing it. These two tracks have had a combined total of over 234,000,000 views, so she must be doing something right. Her brother does most of the production work. Even a bit of guitar in places! Ocean Eyes vid was recorded when she was 13 I think, Bellyache when she was 15. So she's no old fogey, for sure!
