Slick website. No pricing information. Guitar mag says they'll be in the £600 range.
Strategy is obviously an attempt to cash in on the popularity of Ed Sheeran with the youngsters combined with the idea of brand loyalty (it's why BMW have a base model that's much cheaper than its other cars) and capturing its future market when the customers are young and poor(ish).
Maybe it'll work. Who knows?

Are these going to have the Lowden name on the headstock? I get Lowden’s desire to cash in on the little ginger fella but at £600 they won’t be up to usual Lowden quality. I just think high end makers making vastly cheaper guitars cheapens the brand. The cheap Taylor guitars for example are awful, as are some of the cheap Martins.

I re-call in the past George had a disagreement with his co-founders about building cheaper models in Asia? Or did I make that up? Says they are made in Ireland I suppose.
They could be pretty great value at 600. Looks like there is no binding on the guitars and they come with a gig bag rather than hardshell case etc.
I have only tried one S model and never a wee lowden, but I thought it lost quite a bit of what I like about a Lowden guitar when compared to the Fs and Os.

My S25 has all the inherent qualities of a true Lowden. I tend to agree with bellyshere that high end makers making vastly cheaper guitars cheapens the brand, but then I would say wouldn't I?

Anything that gets more people - even young people - playing can only be good.

Anything that gets more people - even young people - playing can only be good. Brian Totally agree. I have a huge soft spot for Ed Sheeran. Anyone who gets young people into playing acoustic guitar is OK, by my book, not to mention getting 80,000 of us jumping up and down in unison to what was basically a busker with a huge PA.

Yeah if it gets people playing then it can't be bad. I don't like Ed's music but he earnt his fame the hard way, by gigging and graft.

I don't think I'm in a position to knock signature guitars that are cheap or my Vintage Giltrap guitars would get upset with me!
But I have found that when it comes to lower budgets some of the higher end guitar makers don't seem to eke out the value for money that the lower end makers can get.
Maybe it will "sing sweetly" - it can happen!
