I don’t know how many of you have ever attended a guitar or music camp. These are a lot more common in the US than the UK, but since 2006 I’ve been attending an event called Blues Week, in July/August every year. lavaman came along one year, and geddarby has been a couple of times. Ged gets something of a starring role in the new promotional video that’s just been released - see below. For the third year running, in 2019 I’ll be running a Songwriters’ Circle at Blues Week over two nights. You might be surprised at the range of styles on display - although the emphasis of the week is on blues, there are people who work in folk, jazz, country, world, singer/songwriter genres. Nothing’s off limits. Please note though that I go as a student/delegate, and pay accordingly - this isn’t a commercial advert, just a recommendation! I can’t pretend it’s a cheap week, but when you consider that there’s 20 hours of teaching available (if you have the stamina), and accommodation and food is included, it’s terrific value. Here’s the video. For more details go to... www.euroblues.co.uk

The mug shots were bad enough, at least Michael didn’t include me trying to play.

Looks fun. I still talk often about my two week's at Steve Kaufman's camp and am still inspired by what I learned there and, more importantly, whom I met there. It was a life-changing experience. Blues Week looks awesome too.
