First time I’ve heard that version. Superb. Now, to use a much, nowadays, abused word. Those guys are cool! Madeleine Peyreux (sp?) does a nice version but more jazzy. I like Keb and Taj’s version so thanks for that.

geddarby This makes me It's in eFlat isn't it, with the slide in Open D and Capoed at 1 - I wonder if that makes a difference. One of my favourite guitar parts: the intro to Statesboro' Blues off Taj's first album. There's another Taj Mahal track on Youtube where he's playing Lightnin' Hopkins' Needed Time with Eric Bibb and a slide player - classy stuff. Saw him at the Exeter Blues festival about 20 years ago - infectious. He must be getting on now. thanks Martin

Been to see Eric Bibb a few times too, though not recently - he was always great and he seems to play tuned down half a step most of the time. btw - he (EB) has a very good instruction DVD songbook that includes Needed Time and also his version of Mance Lipscomb’s Goin Down Slow - which I can just about play now. Great fun.

What a great video track, just a simple, less is more, version which shoes how it should be done. Thanks for posting.
