Hi All... Haven't visited the Forum in a while, I'm sorry to say, but had to share this with you! Many of you will probably have come across this before; I saw it for the first time this week, and I don't think I've ever laughed as much in a long while You have to really feel for the guy, because we've all probably 'been there' to a greater or lesser degree during the course of learning some piece/song or other. Be sure to read the description on the video before you watch it - the really funny part is that it's actually one of his OWN songs that he's trying to learn... Enjoy it! Cheers, Martin

But, having spent most of yesterday trying to record a piece I've written for solo mandolin he has at least a little of my sympathy. In fact I often find I can't play stuff I've written, not fluently anyway, for quite some time. I'm glad it's not just me. Good to see you around again Martin. Keith

That's a coincidence as I came across this video myself 2 days ago; there is an earlier video from the same guy also; I thought the earlier one was a little less 'staged'.
I teach a group of (largely) beginners for our local U3A and sent it on to them (complete with an even stronger warning about the language). I asked them if they wanted me to ask him to join our group; most said 'no' although one (lady!!) said 'yes' as it would make them look better.
