You wake up on a pristine snow-covered Christmas morning, tiptoe downstairs and spot that something guitar-shaped nestles amongst the pile of presents Santa has left under the tree. What was it you wrote to him and asked for? (bearing in mind that in this scenario the gift has been brought by a mythical figure with magical powers, you can feel free to be as outlandish as you like, or not)

What I’d like: A Turnstone TG by RosieTGC . English WRC top, English spalted apple b+s, rippled ash neck, bog oak bridge and fingerboard, Rosie’s Rollover bevel, Gotoh 510 tuners, satin finish. What I’ll get: Socks.

Something that initially looked guitar-shaped but, on closer inspection, turned out to be a Brompton folding bike.

missclarktree I can’t ride a bike so one of your guitars would do very nicely. Thank you,

Nothing. Last year, what with Jewish aunties inviting our son for Hanukkah, my wife insisting on celebrating the solstice rather than Christmas (with one celebrant bringing her own stench) and the curiously empty Christmas Day that followed I'm putting up their bloody decorations and cooking their effing chestnut bake but otherwise having nothing to do with it.

I shall try and be realistic - a pack of strings. But I won’t get those either.

Strings is pretty much a staple xmas pressie for me, and always welcome.
Music books too. There's a couple of books of trad English tunebooks that came out this year I'd quite like - John Offord's 'Bonny Cumberland' being one of them (some 450 jigs, reels, hornpipes etc from the north of England).
