Prompted by this thread Hybrid GAS and because I deserved it I wanted a guitar for the office I wanted something I could leave in standard tuning I just wanted another guitar this arrived yesterday: Still getting to grips with it and getting used to the classical sound but first impressions are favourable. It came perfectly set up fromRichards guitars, is well finished and a great tone considering the price.

OOoohhh I do like that ! Never been a fan of 'flashy' guitars, and that is right up my street. I got my Lowden from Rguitars too, and I have to say, it was perfectly set up, so it's nice to see yours is too.

In some ways it’s a new challenge; the slightly wider nut and higher action and different position are all new and present their own difficulties. My son ( at my suggestion) got me a book of beginner classical tunes which I’m starting to work through.

It's my firm belief that too many players ignore the nylon string, seems you're not a real man unless you play at least medium steels. The sound that nylon strings produce is truly suited to a lot of the celtic music particularly (even more if you use true gut). If you don't have one make it your next acquisition. Oh and yes Cort are pretty decent for the money.

Plus the challenge of getting used to standard tuning. Also really impressed with Cort; some of it is possibly due to the setup but finish is great, tone is great and it’s comfortable to play.

That’s very nice. I’ve found myself playing my nylon more than anything else at the moment. Sounds lovely in DADGAD.
