Cheers Keith. See I know bugger all about this stuff. These lights were put on in 2017 but I didn't play much around that time.
Ok, lets go back to scratch. There is some confusion about string gauges =-allow me to explain.
For dreads, Jumbos et., the most common gauge would be "mediums " 13-56.
For most smaller guiitars - most use lights which are 12-53 or 54.
Then there are the extra lights - 11-52 or some such, *custom light"
Extra light - is 10-47.
Generally speaking no-one really uses heavy gauge any more, apart from maybe on baritone guitars.
a dreadnought is a BIG guitar, made for heavy rhythm in combos etc., and that top size needs a fair amount of tension to drive it.
12-53, lights will suit almost all smaller guitars unless it is a very old and fragile guitars which cannot take normal tension -so the extra lights.
I know one person who uses custom lights on an OM and they seem to work but his is a very lightly built OM.
I know little about Fender acoustics apart that they are built in high volumes in the far east, and so will not be lightly built indicating a medium string.
if the action is too high with these then maybe it needs a set up.
The lighter the string, the more they will flap and consequently buzz.
Hope that helps
