Thanks! Aye, she's pretty good... annoyingly she picks things up in hours tunes that it took me days/weeks/months to figure out She's good on the fiddle too. I can't remember how I discovered the ISB, but it was early 2000s. It was probably from seeing them name-dropped by people I liked like Gorky's Zygotic Mynci and Davendra Banhart. I've only got the first 4 albums and I haven't really explored the solo stuff much. I saw them a couple of times, maybe 15 years ago, with Mike Heron but no Robin Williamson. It was good and they got Clive Palmer to play banjo at one of the gigs... no Robin Williamson songs tho. I've only seen RW once (the drunken time) and he was mainly playing the harp - did a great cover of Ace of Spades. I sometimes see Mike Heron knocking about in Peebles, but after my RW embarrassment I've been too shy to say hello to him. Thanks for the heads up about the FB group - I'll check that out.

The first Mike solo is OK, but not a huge fave of mine, but some of RW solo stuff is truly incredible, definitely check out Myrhh if you haven't heard that one. Some of the later/more recent ones get even weirder, more harpy, stripped back, more Celtic bardic poetry etc., not everyone's cup of tea but I love them. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Myrrh_(album)Worth it for The Dancing of the Lord of Weird track alone, but it's a great album. It was listening to Invocation from the U album at Andy's place that finally triggered my love for them, in 2015.

Do you know any really good tab or tutorials that show how the original recording was played? I had a go at it again today. I can confirm that it's in DADF#AD, with the capo on the 4th or 5th fret. The intro/instrumental bit is pretty straightforward, but when he starts singing it gets hard to hear exactly what he’s doing, partly because his playing and rhythm are pretty loose in those sections to fit in with his vocal phrasing. And he plays it slightly differently on each verse. I found this cover on YouTube which is fairly close to the original and you can see what she’s doing pretty clearly.
