Hard to understand why Allan never really took off in this country. Maybe a deliberate decision to work mostly in Europe, where he has been extremely popular, esp Germany, Holland. Did manage to see him quite a while ago in Milverton at their excellent club - Allan was an excellent entertainer, singer, player, story teller.

AT was favourite of mine back in the [19]! 70's ..."The Morning Lies Heavy" still a song I visit from time to time... Lost track of him since then...my loss I think!

I’ve seen him a couple of times at our local folk club the last being probably 3 years ago. I enjoy his stuff but I always feel that he’s a tad pretentious but perhaps that’s just me……..
