Stuck here with yet another positive test I came across a beautiful version of You Can Close Your Eyes. It brought tears to mine. Back in 71 I bought Mud Slide Slim and the Blue Horizon the day it came out. This was my favourite track. Get your hankies out as father and son perform in perfect harmony. If anybody questions your love of the acoustic guitar here’s the answer.

Great post dreadnought28 . We were only listening to Mud Slide Slim & The Blue Horizon in the car on New Years Eve trip to Silverdale and I commented that it was my favourite JT album. Lovely stuff. I enjoyed this a lot but slightly prefer the one with Carly Simon filmed at their home on Martha's Vineyard. Hope you don't mind me adding this here Chris.

Dream: wouldn't it be great to just be magic-ed into being JT at that moment - you have the guitar chops, you have the voice, you have the songwriting skills, you have Carly... oh, and the drug addiction, and you're singing a song with your wife which you wrote for a previous love, Joni Mitchell. It was a great dream for a few seconds, I guess.
P.S. I am a huge James Taylor fan

I saw him in for the first time July 71 at Newcastle City Hall with Carol King. Sting, a year older than me, was in the audience that night as well. Unforgettable night it was too.

My favourite James Taylor piece is still Two-Lane Blacktop his 1971 film, though I think it was the 1955 big block Chevy hot-rod I really lusted after!
