About 8 years ago I bought a 3-guitar stand from Andy at Stand-Made who had only recently started making them. I saw one at the London Acoustic show and thought they were great, not just as a stand but a lovely bit of furniture. Of course 8 years later and a few guitars later I could only have 3 next to me in the room. So, time to expand the stand. In my room the place I like them is a bit tight so between Andy and me and some careful measuring we worked out I could just have a 6-er by narrowing the gap between each guitar a little. So the day of testing was when it arrived today and it's brilliant. Here's an image; one guitar still to go in which is elsewhere. And of course I now have a 'spare' 3-er which, you never know, might just get filled ..... Anyone interested in getting one, here's Andy's link (and no, I'm not on commission!) www.stand-made.co.uk/Attachments:

Ooer that looks lovely, John - congrats.
I have a space in mind for a guitar stand and have been admiring Standmade ones ever since you got your first one. I am sure 5 would fit the space, but 6 would be even better. May I ask what the max floor footprint of your stand is? Then I can get my tape measure out! I really like the look of their stands! And yes, of course you will fill your 3-er sooner or later!

The actual width at the floor ended up as 970 mm. Width wise you also need to state which way the guitars will face in the stand but Andy would explain that to you. Re the other dimensions, with my 12-ers which are the tallest guitars, you need a minimum of 1.3metres from the ground but that will depend on what your guitar heights are and you need some room to put them in safely. The front of the guitars are approx 0.5 metre from the back wall, but again you need room to put them in. If you look at his site there are guide prices. If you want to know what mine worked out at pm me. Lead time from order was about 8 weeks. John

Congratulations John. I bought one of Andy’s stands when I disposed my 14 fret guitars, that I could no longer play. My stand has space for two guitars in their cases and is presently half full, though hopefully not for too much longer…..
The stand is very well made and designed, and the service was excellent. Highly recommended.

I have looked at their website on several occasions and it is reassuring to know that the reality is even better! Keith

Looks good John. I have a single one in the lounge that folds nicely to fit alongside the TV cabinet thingy. Nicely made kit.

These are very good. I would recommend the versatility of the case rack but with the added moveable neck rests so you can go between case and out of case with same rack. Also takes a cello (with the moveable neck rest offset from centre).
anyone got the double decker?

anyone got the double decker? I have a couple of these stands - two 5-ers in oak. I like them. On the second one, Andy made two mandolin hangers which are screwed on each end. It's where I, um, hang my mandolins...
