Sad indeed. Interesting how many excellent songwriters come from Canada.

That's sad. A great songwriter. I loved his playing and his arrangements.

Sad news. Gordon Lightfoot's Minstrel of the Dawn was one reason why I decided to learn guitar.
Thank you for your music, Gordon.

Was listening to him today when I heard this in The Watchman’s Out. He can turn his face proudly to the sky.
If you find me feeding daisies Please turn my face up to the sky And leave me be, watching the moon roll by. Whatever I was, you know it was all because I been on the town, washing the bullshit down.
The watchman's out, kicking your dreams about. It feels so good, knowing the watchman's gone. It's like a song, knowing the watchman's gone.

Probably my all-time favorite singer-songwriter. Saw him about 5 years ago when he came to UK for first time in 30 years; voice had just about gone but was still doing 100 odd gigs a year at age 78. Won't be another like him.
