Just had 3 packs of fake Daddario exl110 electric strings......so wondered if going with something like Rotosounds might be a safe bet.....i seem to remember they always seemed to sound a bit flat straight out of the pack.....have they improved or am i remembering wrong, any thoughts?

Where did you get the strings from? My experience with Rotosounds on acoustics has only been with nylon strings and they seemed lifeless but that doesn’t mean their steel ones are.

rob - I have used Rotosound Super Bronze 12-54 (phosphor bronze) extensively in the past when they went under a different name, and have used an odd set here and there more recently. The strings have no windings where they pass over the bridge (like piano strings). I quite liked them. Keith

There’s a lot to like about them they seem to suit baddy instruments so I suppose they are on the bright side of the tone spectrum. Since there’s no wrap contacting the bridge, just core the action iOS subtly lowered
