I saw the post about Vincent Black Lightning, and that set me to thinking of my favourite Thompson songs. The Vincent song has never been one of my favourites, for some reason, but he's got such a huge back catalog that's full of wonderful songs. I have to say a lot of mine are from his older material, such as...
And the less well known...
How about you?

Oooh, too many to choose from, and if you ask me again tomorrow they'd likely be different! But at the moment, just off the top of my head and in no particular order, I'd mention -
Meet on the Ledge (a must for my funeral please!) Devonside Pavanne Walking on a Wire Bright Lights End of the Rainbow Wall of Death Dimming of the Day Strange Affair She twists the knife again Waltzing's for Dreamers
and, stretching a point as it was co-written with Peter Filleul and Tim Finn Persuasion
Sorry it's such an undisciplined and ramblingly long list!

Keith A good start but I’d add Beeswing, When the Spell is Broken and Has he got a friend for me?

Impossible question really; like Keith my list shifts with the tides, and with whatever appears in my random playlist. For now, I would add: Pour Down Like Silver Down Where the Drunkards Roll Burns Night
and from more recent times: Another Small Thing in Her Favour Saving the Good Stuff for You
by lunchtime, or course, I’ll probably have changed my mind 😆

Agree with Keith's list, Meet on the ledge is an absolute must. Others that I couldn't do without include: I'm a great fan of the period when he was playing with Linda The Great Valerio Down Where the Drunkards Roll The Little Beggar Girl At the Dimming of the Day Then there is: Beeswing ( Great version by Vinny at HB15) 1952 VBL (I love the line, Red hair and black leather, my favourite colour scheme.) Cold Kisses By far however my favourite pure RT song is, From Galway to Graceland I could go on, I usually do. I'd also like to sneak in the best song on which RT performed, but a traditional song, which is of course TAM LIN, probably the greatest single song recorded in the 20th century, I can remember the reaction when the then folk royalty heard it, basically it was "well that has changed everything". Sandy, RT etc at their very best. Colin
