I like to keep a beaker of water next to my mandolin stand, so that once I've finished playing I can dunk my plectrum and give it a quick rinse, thus ensuring it is nice and clean for my next session.
Just wondered if anyone else did this - am I normal?

Much better to sterilise the plectrum which requires alcohol. So have a nice glass of malt on hand for the purpose that you can "dispose of appropriately" after playing. Simples

Thanks for helping me out guys, I've since googled a bit about beaker-related dunking hygiene and I do seem to be in a minority!
