Musically, what things are you concentrating on right now? For me, it's wrestling with the second part of 'Lady Nothing's Toye Puffe' by John Renbourn, while also venturing into DADGAD a bit more by trying to learn one or two more of Mark Thomson's tunes. I also intend to start going through Keith's 'Butterfly' book quite soon, and in between times juggle playing the banjo, mandolin and bass. If I get a spare hour or two I might try to learn that accordion I got last year

For me its going to be rediscovering Dadgad again on my new guitar and finding some more tunes to arrange. Want to try and develop (and memorise!) my repertoire and start gigging a bit more.

Similar sort of thing for me- having more of a real go at DADGAD and trying out CGCGCD. Love trying the alternative tunings, but not really progressing as much as I'd like to. Obvoiusly need more practice time!!

I'm writing one of my dismal epic songs. This one's called Della Dunn's Dream, and it follows the course of one woman's day in this time of austerity - for some.
The usual pretentious twaddle. It actually has dream sequences:
And sometimes Della dreams she passes through the stickered window Of the store where they sell sculpted clothes priced beyond her dreams Changing places with the mannequin presiding at a party Queen of all the cupcakes - but all’s not as it seems She looks down at her price tag and the numbers are all zeros She tries to say she’s worth more but cannot make a sound Then the air is filled with chatter, she’s a servant serving cupcakes She gets smaller they grow taller and no one’s looking down

Keith, It's that final G string that makes all the difference

Musically, what things are you concentrating on right now? Well, I've got a 2 or 3 tunes written but either I cant play them well enough to video or I'm not sure if they are sh#te or not - possibly both I am in a bit of a dip in my playing at the moment which may be because other things are happening in my life (house sale etc) and I'm trying to find something to record but nothing sounds good - so I'm a bit of a moaning sod at the moment. Never mind eh? sure it will pass and I'm off to Spain on the 2nd March for 2 weeks and not taking my guit so hopefully will come back refreshed Cheers Phil

I've been working through canadee-I-o for a few months - have finally got to the point where I can just about play the intro! Only the rest to go...
Also been looking at some Martin Simpson stuff and writing a few pieces myself in cgcgcd tuning...
Currently I'm not gigging or looking to, so I've been enjoying just playing for playings sake, and taking my time to work things out...
Looking forward to my fylde arriving in a few months to spark some creativity!,

I'm still waiting to get my instruments back out from their hiding place under the stairs... It appears that 'redecorating' might be going o take longer than originally envisaged

I'm still waiting to get my instruments back out from their hiding place under the stairs... Thanks for the heads-up Leo. I didn't know they hid under there. A huge mound of boots and shoes is all I can see in ours, but I'll have a dig round and - who knows? - there might be an old Loar F5 cowering away inside a moonboot.
