... with a 12 fret Taylor 522. All I need now is the 1500 quid for one.

The Taylor 322 is the guitar but with Sapele back and sides instead of Mahogany and near enough £600 less.
FWIW, I prefer Sapele to Mahogany when possible.

I prefer the look of Sapele compared to Mahogany too.
Talking about 12 fret guitars.
I recently bought a Faith Mercury High Gloss which has Spruce top with Rosewood back and is also a 12 fret. I absolutely love it.
Best guitar I have bought.

As far as Martin are concerned Sapele and Mahogany are interchangeable.

The road series Martin all solid sapele is lovely, but this blew me away. I owned the Faith Mercury High Gloss and it is a lovely thing. Enjoy it.

In my experience sapele has a slightly warmer tone than mahogany. I prefer it, its one of my favourite tonewoods.

I also played a Guild M120, which really was lovely also.

The 12 Fret GC are Taylor's best kept secret if you ask me - warmer and more responsive than their guitars normally feel, but with the same benefits of playability and stability.
