Very few films exist of Django Reinhardt but here is one. His ring finger and little finger on his left hand were badly burnt in a fire so he played with just two fingers and his thumb.

While few indeed, there are in fact some that get pretty close. One such documentary is "Django Reinhardt, Trois doigts de génie". A wonderful piece of history and very see-worthy. For an exhaustive (and exhausting) list, see www.djangostation.com/ - the go-to place for all things gitanes.

Nice one, Dennis. One of the genuine geniuses of guitar. Even when he was making a bloody awful row - and he did some of the time - he seemed to be groping towards something unique.

Only this morning I watched this documentary on the Toob: I love Django, and the whole gypsy jazz sound. There are some amazing players around these days. Kind regards Derek
