Well after several weeks of searching have finally got myself a new guitar, a Faith high gloss Venus. Went to PMT in Manchester talk about guitar porn this place should be triple x rated. Basically they had a lot of major brands on show and I tried most of them. Went there to try the Yamaha ac3r, Taylor 314ce and the Martin gpcpa4. I thought the Yamaha was OK but it was not saying buy me. Then I tried the Taylor again it was good but it was not saying buy me. Whilst playing the Taylor I notice they had a Faith stand. The High Gloss Venus was the first one I tried and I couldn't put it down. Just to make sure I tried the Martin but to be honest I think my mind was already made up. I soon put the Martin back and carried on playing the Faith. Needless to say my credit card took the hit and I'm now one very happy bunny. When I brought it home I let my son have a go he to had a problem putting it down. Eventually his girlfriend managed to distract him long enough to get it back. I was really impressed with it when it was plugged into an amp to. Going to give it one last play before I put it to bed. ??

Congrats on finding a guitar that talks / sings to you. I had wondered about a trying a Faith. There is only one place locally that stocks the brand - but needless to say they don't stock the Mercury, which was the one I was most interested in. They don't like small body guitars in the shops round here. I wondered about trying the Venus as the next size up, but it only seems to be in electro form so I'd be paying extra for a pick up system I won't use. Maybe still worth a go despite that given what you've said though. Look forward to hearing more about it as you get to know it better. Hope you have many great years together. Mark

Congratulations!!
My local shop stocks up on all the Faiths. I've owned my Faith FJ for a few years now. I've loved that guitar and even I got the Lowden, I still feel I play the faith just as much. Such a great valued guitar.
Have fun with the new beauty,
Chris.

Thanks guys. Yes I'm really looking forward to getting to know my new baby. Vikingblues the body of the Venus is smaller than a dreadnought guitar and even if you don't use the pickup it has has a built in tuner which is very handy. Well I'm off to go and play my guitar.

Enjoy your new guitar! I nearly bought a Neptune (baby jumbo?) a few years ago, and think they're excellent.

Well I can confirm that after a few days of playing my new Faith Venus I definitely made the right choice. Can't believe how nice it sounds and how easy it is to play. Sounds great strummed and when I attempt to have a go at finger picking. Will definitely have to start practising finger picking.

I tried one on holiday in sunny Oban the other week . The wee shop is a Faith dealer and yes I was impressed . I like them very much indeed and very playable right off the hanger . Good luck and enjoy .
