I'm going to be exhibiting again this year at the East Anglia Guitar Festival on Sunday 5th May at Great Bardfield, Essex and Keith Chesterton (O'Carolan) and Mark Thomson will be there with me to help out and demo my instruments during the day. There's a great line up of exhibitors covering steel string, classical, ukulele and electric, a great series of Workshops during the day including the chance to make your own cigar box guitar with Chickenbone John and an enticing line up for the evening concerts - all for £12 in advance or £14 on the day (Cigar Box workshop is extra). I'll also be launching my "Mandolin Road Trip" there plus another guitar project that you'll here more about in the coming weeks. If any of you fancy a day out pop by and say hello.

I've got a www.chickenbonejohn.com/ cigar box guitar - I love it and, with only 3 strings, it's not *that*difficult to play Apart for the Paul Brett 12-er it's the only instrument I have that plugs in.... Good luck with the show, chaps, I hope it goes well

Just bought my ticket, looking forward very much to meeting Dave and Keith again, and Mark for the first time.
Given the venue is called the High Barn, I think we could dub this HB3.5?

I am very looking forward to it. Ewan McLennan is headlining on the evening's performances, I saw him supporting Martin Simpson a few months ago and is well worth a listen. I shall be bringing Ceol Binn II along with me so I think there will be 3 of Dave's mandos to try out, in different wood combinations. Although there will be a strict vetting process for anyone wishing to play mine

Just a reminder for anyone that can come along to the East Anglia Guitar Festival this Sunday - it would be great to see you there. The The Young Acoustic Guitar Musician Competition Guitar "Samhradh" will be there and the Road Trip Mandolin starts its journey there with Joe. You also get the chance to meet Keith and see Mark Thomson play a 20 minute set in the Marquee when they are setting up the main Barn for the evening concert.

I hope it goes really well, that instruments are commissioned, deals struck - and that the road trip mandolin starts its journey safely

Just packed my bag, last minute.com as usual! And I've got the bloody cold, so not feeling 100%, but I'm sure I'll rise to the occasion.
Trying to remember everything I'm taking, and guaranteed to forget something!
Looking forward to popping in to see Leo on the way down and having a cuppa to break the journey up.

I shall be buying mine at the petrol station just the other side of Bridgwater where I'll be filling up with fuel for the car as well! I'll be packing instruments, undies etc tomorrow morning just before setting off. V excited about the weekend and meeting up with Dave, Mark and Joe again. And Dave has got so many new instruments I've not tried yet!! Keith
