You think you know the high qualities of a guitar and then you find it's all a front! Mark

Well, I've heard some luthiers say that most of the tone is in the top, so I wouldn't worry too much.

Actually I think young Alex is making an air guitar, but hasn't quite finished it yet.

That must be the thin line model ! Lovely looking bunch of instruments- I think you should introduce them, Robbie Top left is a Vintage paul brett signature 12 string, I removed the pickup because I don't like undersaddle pickups and I am probably going to keep it acoustic only, unless I can find a soundhole pickup that will fit Top middle are the remains of a simon and patrick guitar, I got it for free because it was beyond repair, I removed the top from the body in an attempt to make an electric guitar using the acoustic body but it all went belly up, I am now trying to use the neck to make a lap steel guitar. Top right is one of the best freebies I have ever got, it is a Dulcet classical guitar from about the 60's or 70's, not high quality or expensive but it is very nice, wood rosette, solid top, when I got it the neck had broken at the heel causing it to pull forwards, I glued and screwed the neck back into place and the top also had several cracks which I repaired, it left quite a nice guitar, not a looker and quite battered but I like to mess about on it, I think I've written 2 songs on it already. Bottom left is a 30's Windsor model 2 'Premier' banjo, original head, original tuners and the case is in fantastic condition, an older man had bought it new, he died and it sat away probably in a loft or cupboard for about 60 years, his son kept it thinking he would pick it up someday but he realised he never would so he sold it to the shop which I in turn bought it from. It was originally an open back banjo but it has been fitted with a detachable resonator conversion sometime in the 30's, very nice banjo! Bottom right is a guitar made by a luthier who is local to me called Terry Docherty, it looks a bit different now because I have replaced the original undersaddle pickup with an L.R Baggs M1A soundhole pickup which is my favorite pickup a beautiful guitar. Alex, K&K make a really nice 12 string version of their mini bridge plate transducer system, I only ever fit K&K.
