I got a nice surprise when Mark Williams from North Carolina sent me this video of the guitar I made for him nearly ten years ago. This is my "Daithi" model - probably what most would call a small jumbo - in European Spruce/Cuban Mahogany. It seems to be aging nicely :

Must be good to find out one of your "babies" is doing so well. Am I right in thinking European Spruce is a touch warmer in sound than the ubiquitous sitka? Mark

First time I've seen a De Faoite with a pick guard ... is that an original feature, Dave, or added after?
Certainly seems to have lost none of the sustain I associate with your instruments - "How Great Thou Art" sounded fantastic.

Lovely, sweet sounding guitar, Dave.
Nice to hear her again after ten years? Nice, too, of Mark to surprise you.
Alasdair.

Lovely looking guitar, I like the narrow waisted look. It sounds bright and clear so it not only sounds good on its own but would cut-through in a small group. A beauty. Why do European quality guitars have a different sound to American quality guitars?
