I'm trying to think of what to do here.
I bought a Taylor 355 12 string about a month ago and I have been thinking about it.
I play 12 string quite rarely, it doesn't suit the vast majority of what I play, I also really need another L.R Baggs M1A for the Loar LO-16-BK which I got for my birthday, so I was thinking that since I play it so rarely that I could sell it, buy a cheaper 12 string and have money left over to buy other things which I need/will use more often.
What do you think, I'll not sell it for less than I paid for it, I'm just not sure if I'll regret it and not like the cheaper one, although saying that, I used to have a cheap Fender 12 string which was about 5-10 years old or so and I liked that, great for blues stuff

I actually had a PB 12er which I part exchanged for the Taylor, although I don't know if I'd go back to one, I'd probably want a larger dreadnought body if I were to sell the Taylor

Very difficult to judge isn't it Alex. It IS so much harder to justify an expensive guitar / instrument if it's just for occasional use. Especially if there is something else you fancy doing that would be used much more. In my own little guitar world I try to use a "logical" rule - if I don't get much use out of an instrument I probably don't need it, so bye bye. Unless it's limited use is regular and I really enjoy playing it a lot. But it's a sod to sell an instrument and then find you miss it and have regrets - just the once so far for me and it still rankles mainly for my stupidity in not thinking things through (though that was a sale in order to upgrade and then finding that what I had originally was way better). Really can't recommend one way or the other - so fat lot of good my post is! Mark

I think I'm going to sell it.
I packed it away in its case last night and hid it among the other cases, this morning I didn't even notice that it was gone until I remembered that I'd hidden it away, I went about as though I didn't own it and I didn't miss it

I don't wish to rain on your parade sort of thing , and please don't take this the wrong way , but unless you got a great deal on the Taylor in the first place id doubt the way the market is just now if you'd get what you paid for it back . But wish you luck anyway .

Thanks guys. I'm probably going to order an LR Baggs M1A pickup for my Loar guitar, then get an Epiphone inspired by 1964 Texan which is a guitar I've wanted for a while and also an M1A for that, better than having a 12 string that I'll never use
