Just spotted this on David Crozier's site - www.oldschoolguitars.co.uk/shop/view_product.html?prod=2904These are great guitars, not common, sound is Lowdenish as well as looks. This one looks good in pics - if structural state and playability are what they should be it's a veritable bargain. If you're in the Eastbourne area it might be worth a look. Guy Trameleuc is a serious French maker, but this particular guitar was made under licence in Japan (?Saga) in the 1980s. (Sounds familiar....) - the b/s will be laminated, though with a solid top. Many had structural problems (I don't think he chose his Jap factory as carefully as Mr Lowden did) so those that survive are likely to be the better ones! I've played a couple and and was well impressed - not exactly Lowden (or French Trameleuc) quality but excellent vfm. Keith

Is the ebay one really a mahogany back? I know what you mean Joe. The PAH-10 designation does denote a mahogany back/sides, though the photo doesn't look especially like it. Probably not too significant either way, as the b/s were laminated. Keith

Hi, I have a Trameleuc PAH-10 purchased in Plymouth Devon in 1986. It's being stored at the moment(lack of space)as I have a newly purchased Martin DX-1R. Obviously the sound and feel are different! The Tram has had a fret dress in the last couple of years which really improved the playability, but now starting to maybe need a re-fret at some time. But compared to the Martin, which has a lovely bright responsive tone with good middle and lows, The Tram is so much more warm and organic, it is nearly 30 years old after all, whilst the Martin is new. Being a working guitar it is showing signs of age, it has been played nearly every day since '86. I bought it for about £380 and was surprised to see one on Dave Croziers page for £625. Mine doesn't have a mark left by a scratch plate, it didn't come with one. Unfortunately it does have a few dings, but she has character as a result. Always loved her tone, she has matured beautifully.
