... and I'm quite excited about it The current exchange rate to the GBP has encouraged me to look for luthiers on this side of the Channel. Luckily, I found someone who seems to be making quite interesting guitars and he's only a 60 minutes' drive away from where I live. Jens Towet learned his skills at Lincoln College in Newark, so most of his work is based on making violins and classical guitars using the traditional spanish method. However, his portfolio also includes some steelstring models, which are also based on this procedure. I'll see him on tuesday to have a look at his workshop, play some of his guitars and have some "guitar talk". From what I've seen and heard so far via the www this might be the start of a new acquisition like to see some pics ? Of course, this would mean that I have to say good bye to one of my other guitars. Necessary, but not easy

His work looks beautiful.
I don't know a huge amount about German luthiers building steel string guitars aside from Hahl and Blazer & Henkes, who are really expensive but are considered to be the best in their particular fields. Do you know of many other interesting luthiers in Germany?

I love the square slothead in that photo. Hope you have a good visit. Do you still have your Heiner D? Of course After all, it's my signature guitar <== <== <== I've got quite a few great guitars, but if I would have to make do with just one my Akquarius would be this very one.
