Tonight, same as many nights of the week I was at a folk club, and as usual I rode there, guitar on my back on my bike, had a great night as usual, walk out at the end and sure enough some dirty low life scum had stolen my bike, luckily someone there was able to give me a lift home, but now folk clubs and singaround sessions are a no-go for me, at least until I am able to get a new bike, very, very P'd off, reported to local police, however, not sure what can be done.

Bad news about the bike, Alex. Hope it doesn't keep you from performing for long!

Was it not too long ago that @robbiej had a similar bike issue (not at a folk club, mind)?
In all fairness, I'm not sure that the 'folk club' was to blame ... you could probably have gone anywhere and it would've been halfed. 2 sturdy locks are de rigeur for push bikes nowadays, I'm afraid...
Hope you get something sorted soon, Alex.

Left my bike all locked up with one of those flexible kryptonite locks, but some egit managed to cut through it with wire cutters. I did get the bike back thank heavens, but the guy who knicked it was on a bit of a spree and stole 16 bikes in total over just a couple of weeks !! He's since been caught and sentenced, but its not nice. I remember getting back off the train the day it was nicked and just standing staring at the empty space where I left it not having a clue what to do I really feel for you Alex. You really need to get one of those solid U shaped kryptonite locks. Don't use anything that can be cut through with wire cutters. Robbie

Sorry to hear that Alex - get yourself an old rubbish bike for your gig transport. Paint it gungy black, and use a serious lock.
Mind you, cycling with a guitar on your back, as well as making your back sweaty, isn't exctly the safest thing to do anyway....
Hope you might get your bike back though. Don't suppose you'd insured it....?
