My main instrument is: probably needing new strings

guitbrett has just posted these pics of a Viator with an 'antique' finish on Facebook. Fishman Matrix Pickup system, bottom loading battery box and a USB output... He reckons a RRP of £249 - but dealer discounts will be available, he thinks. Limited Edition, mind, (though limited to what I don't know) - available in June. Looks a bit lovely, I reckon!

Vintage specialise in releasing alternative versions that I'd be interested in of guitars I've just bought! They did the same with the Lemon Drop (on the dark side). It does have a good look to it and that price seems very good with the Fishman thrown in. On the practical side I would anticipate a Limited Edition wouldn't find it's way to the wilds of Edinburgh, so I'd probably not get the opportunity of trying one anyway. Note my desperate attempt at getting a positive spin on the situation there! Mark

I have to say, that looks horrible. Like a bad photo copy.

No, it's just another one of those "blue and black" or "white and gold" things...
Is it the photo of the guitar that has had an antique finish???

So many question ... Unfortunately, those 2 photos are the only pics that Paul has uploaded as yet (though he's promised a soundclip in the near future).

Here it is. Looks like great value. But I'm holding out for the new Viatenor tenor guitar. Same body, apparently, but a tenor guitar (which I've always fancied).

The antique finish looks interesting, but I find the onboard controls and battery compartment/jack/USB a bit of an incongruous mix.
An antique finish, purely acoustic version? Might go for that.
Viatenor also sounds intriguing...

The vintaged Viator looks better in the vid. I don't like fake vintaged guitars, at all. Soundwise, Paul can make anything sound decent but i reckon it sounds thin and weedy. The pickup sounds very un-natural, too. Not for me, this one.
