My main instrument is: probably needing new strings

I don't mean that I sold the guitar I have had the longest... no, I have, for the first time, sold a guitar, my PB 12-er. And what a pleasant experience it was. Long time lurker @mrquarterpast and I met at his parents' house to do the deal (he's over from Ireland for a week or so). He's one of those weird DADGAD types but didn't fancy changing the tuning there and then so nurdled around in standard tuning. Liked what he heard and we shook hands on the deal. I'm hoping Stephen will pop his head over the parapet at some stage and say 'hello' All of which means, of course, mean that I have an empty space on my wall... But not for long, I hope

Congrats, Leo! That space is crying out for your new baby - when's it due? Also, congrats to @mrquarterpast on the new acquisition

Blimey Leo, you must be strapped for cash - I didn't think you even knew it was possible to sell guitars! But congrats to you and @mrquarterpast on doing the deal. We'll expect a first impressions review from you any day soon then Stephen! Keith

Better watch out it's not habit forming Leo!
But on the positive side you can double the number of guitars you buy if you sell some too.

I'm interested - how many guitars DO you have Leo?

Hey creamburmese, unless you're actually married to leoroberts I'm not sure that's a question you're allowed to ask...

Being allowed to ask the question is not the same as having the right to a clear and unequivocal answer...

No-one, repeat no-one, has a right to an answer to the question under discussion, but if one is to be given, the correct, clear and unequivocal answer is "Some". Keith

I've always found "a number" to be the best response. If asked "yes, but what number?", repeat as required.

I tend to say either "some" or "not enough". Eventually they will stop asking and just sigh when the next big box is delivered.

Surely the correct answer is "one fewer than I really need".

Congrats to both parties of this deal. When 'sold' my first it was stolen in transit to the buyer. I would only do a face-to-face in future. As for "How many guitars" Mrs S. already thinks I have too many! But can you have too many? Perhaps, you can only play so much.
