Hello fellow Land Lubbers, For those who are not C.O.G's, I was grumbling about selling some guitars but it was to make space for a NGD. Il Postino brought me a special package, which from the outside looked like it could either be a really large sandwich or a guitar and it was a guitar! Pena Vargas may not be a name known to many outside the realms of flamenco but in it's world he's making some fine impressions in a relatively short amount of time. For the wood nerds, it has a cedar soundboard and African Padauk back and sides. As for specs, it is 'short scale' and has a small nut width, which is 650mm and 52mm respectively and it . I've spent the last year or so playing a guitar with a 660mm scale, 53mm nut and a neck profile like Kieron Pollard's cricket bat. The soundboard has been French Polished and the rest of the guitar is nitro finished. What is that? Enough with the rambling and you would like to see a picture? Why certainly. Here is a picture of the front Here is one of the back

That looks pretty! I didn't think 650 x 52 was either short or narrow though! My short scale classical Douglass Scott is 630 mm x 50 mm

Thanks for the replies!
creamburmese (is it Julie?) The flamenco side of things is a bit different to classical guitars in some ways, and I would say scale is one of the things to differentiate between them. I would say 660mm scale is 'standard', with 666mm/670mm being 'long' and 650mm being 'short' scale. You should post up some pictures of your Scott classical guitar. This forum needs some more nylon string representation!
Vic/Keith Cheers!
Dave One day I will post something in the Plucky Duck section... Thanks for the reminder though!
Russ, Are you fan a of Peter Walker at all? My obsession with flamenco kind of started with Peter Walker, which I imagine is a odd way of getting into the genre!
