Saw this on the BBC website today. Sad but hat's off to Pete for his attitude "Pete Howlett"Martin - only 999.5 ukes to go for you

Thanks for linking to that, Dave. Sad indeed, but what a great little video A man with a plan BTW, I have 1/2 of a uke to go, and that's it. No more

Thanks for posting that Dave. A great watch and a very admirable attitude, I hope he can make his target.
I think Pete once posted here or on the 'old forum'.
Aside from ukuleles he also made some Weiss's, one of which fell into the hands of the late Jack Rose, as played below

What a great link Dave - one of those life affirming "I'm not going to let this get the better of me" stories. As to what he's specialized in - I'm a complete Ukelele ignorant and have only ever played very cheap ones - so the sound of the one he plays was a revelation. Lets hope that Parkinsons research at least finds a way of slowing the advance - thats a lot of Ukes to make!

I am not sure how I got here but out of curiosity I did a vanity search and found 4 threads mentioning my name, this being one of them. I'm still working, using 21st century technologies combined with my hand skills to produce instruments. If you want to see how I've managed to stay one step ahead of a mentally exhausting physical deterioration go here: Daily Ukulele Maker Content

Great video Pete. I really hope you achieve all you want to. And you could hardly have chosen a better place to live while doing that.
All the best from Swansea.

Great that - really interesting all the way through. 'What I want is an instrument that doesn't need to be played' Martin Simpson (12.00) - interesting. Loved the music at 41.00. thanks Martin
