Does anyone else use superglue gel? I'm off up to Whitby FF tomorrow for a few day of hopefully intensive session playing Imagine my dismay when I realised a small tear in my thumbnail had propagated to nearly half way across I tried laminating tissue paper and rizlas with nail varnish but that failed when doing the dishes (yes I know I shouldn't as a finger style player I should have nothing to do with kitchen sinks, but not everyone thinks likewise) But plan B with the superglue seems to be successful. Any thoughts folks?

I've used superglue for splits too, Andy. If possible I try to use a little of the very thin superglue over the split in the hope it might get right in there, and follow up with the thicker gel stuff over a wider area over the split, usually after a bit of gentle sanding on the area where glue is to go. Usually works reasonably well, and can last until the split grows out, with extra applications of glue from time to time.
Often feels a bit different when playing though, as the nail ends up thicker and less flexible if much glue is applied near the playing end. Tone can be different too.
Better than no nail though!
Hope yours works out well!

I go to my local Vietnamese-run nail shop and ask them to fix it. They always can for a fiver.

I use superglue and tissue paper. I've tried the gel which is supposed to be more flexible, but found it no different from the ordinary stuff.
