Yesterday afternoon at Towersey Festival, I was very lucky to have the opportunity of sharing a stage with some really wonderful people. Roy Bailey, who is nothing short of a national treasure, his son-in-law Martin Simpson ('nough said), the amazing Andy Cutting and Marc Block, who is responsible for getting Roy from place to place, as well as being a fine singer and thoroughly lovely person. I cannot begin to pretend that my dubious musical abilities put me in this position, I am just very fortunate and privileged to know these guys. But what an afternoon. Roy goes down a storm everywhere he performs but Towersey is a very special occasion, both for him and those who attend. Roy is the official patron of Towersey and was was there right at the beginning back in 1965. It was an extremely moving occasion as well as being great fun to participate in. Thanks to all for having me there. I now have to cope with prospect of a return to reality... Martin's wife and daughter came up for a rendition of Molly's Garden, written by Kit... Molly Simpson rocks ! A star in the making... Cheers, Ian

What a fantastic occasion that must have been, Ian. Any recordings/videos at all?

What a fantastic occasion that must have been, Ian. Any recordings/videos at all? Hi Paul. It was indeed awesome. Earlier in the day Martin, Andy, Roy and I rehearsed in Martin and Kit's tent, which was a somewhat surreal experience. It was lashing it down for much of yesterday in Towersey so conditions were, as they say, sub-optimal. Roy mentioned to me that he was hoping to record the event, so we'll see what comes out of that. Cheers, Ian
