Roger has been awarded the MBE in the New Year Honours list "For Services to Guitar Making, Music, and Heritage Crafts". Few have done more to advance the art and science of guitar making in this country and to bring the joy of acoustic music to so many. It is easy to be cynical about the honours system but it is at its best recognising such lifetime achievements. Congratulations to Roger; and let the malt whiskeys be lined up for him in the (virtual) bar of the Plucky Duck! Brian PS I have just noticed that, as ever, I am late to the party. Phil Taylor has already posted about this in our "Off Tooic section. Sorry.

No prob Brian. The Off Topic Section is Members only, whereas this board is public and hence has a wider audience.
A very well deserved symbol of recognition for Rog - agree with your comments Brian. Let the whisky (probably with no "e"..!?) flow freely in celebration.
Not that I need an excuse....

Keith My mistake. I had assumed that a man of his taste and discernment would drink the proper Irish stuff rather that the ersatz Scot's. Brian

Congratulation to Roger, from all accounts he sounds like a gentleman and all the respect he gets is well deserved.
