That's a winery cave... tomorrow afternoon.
Looking forward to it and been preparing some up-tempo bluesy stuff to play - I think it may be cold and I'll be playing on a balcony looking down on the winery, so not sure how the acoustics will work out.
I'll play the Kostal, it will be its first outing plugged in, may need to tinker with the eq a bit due to the big bass end.
The best thing about it is I'll be paid in wine!

Nice! Make sure the guitar is in the case before you partake of too much wine!

I think the deal was as much as I can drink whilst I'm there!

As the Kostal doesn't have a soundport just take a plug for the soundhole - you can get a lot of wine in a Modified Dreadnought Shame you aren't playing double bass. Have a good gig . . . or a glug glig

Interesting gig Jonny - you might only need a minimum of sound reinforcement if you're above everyon and the "cav" isn't too huge. Keith

Thanks Keith - it is a long, narrow hall with a very high ceiling - they are expecting loads of people, so when it fills up and people start to be a little inebriated I may need some sound reinforcement. Originally they wanted to put me up on a beam!
My nails are failing, so don't want to play too hard as they've almost worn away and also thought a PA would add a bit of clarity - I'll find out tomorrow when I set up. Won't get much volume out of the Mod D filled with wine anyway - I'll take a straw, one of those bendy ones I can fit behind the strings over the soundhole.

Ah, that is a tricky space then - good luck with that! I'm sure you're right about some amping then. I'm thankful for you that the beam idea didn't happen!
Once had to play, with band, in a skittle alley - similar proportions but probably smaller - only way it would have been harder was if they'd still been playing skittles!

Nearly spluttered out the Shiraz I was slurping Leo - v funny and v clever - maybe Jonny should play your recording as interval music - I'm sure he'd pass on a % of his fee - maybe half a bottle? Keith

Keith Fankoo. As a non-wine drinker I have to admit that I typed into Google 'different types of wine' and just picked the ones with which I could vaguely rhyme something... yes, I actually *research* this rubbish... Dave, you read my mind ... my final line was going to be something along the lines of 'Now you'll excuse me but I really have to pee' but I couldn't find a wine that ended in 'ee' and all the other rhymes I came up with were just too tortuous even for me.

Leo, As you have slotted so beautifully into the role of the Acoustic Soundboard Comic Bard and in view of this latest gem's theme I think that you should take the stage name of "Jake Daiquiri"
