Just dug the old nylon string out, needs a restring, i used to use Savarez red card high tension many years back....anything new on the market in classical strings or just go with the Savarez again? Also looking for a ust pickup, fancy the rmc hex pickups really but too much hassle to get hold of them and install them. Any suggestions for ust, sadly not into k.k. pickups... Thanks Rob

HI Rob Strings for classical guitars are much like those for steel strings - some strings go better with some guitars. Savarez still makes great strings though now strings come in different flavors - nylon, titanium, carbon, regular or low-squeak. I find Savarez in general to be too bright for my spruce top but they are recommended for the cedar top ( I haven't actually tried them on it yet). A good all purpose string is the D'Addario Pro Arte range - and they make and exp (coated version) that I think actually sounds better. Good luck! j
