I've been scrobbling my listening to last.fm since 2007 and it's a great data resource for checking out listening habits over the years. Is anyone else here on last.fm? Pretty much everything I've listened to in the last 10 years has been logged on there. http://www.last.fm/user/camscampbell

I am on Last.fm as well although I haven't actively used the site for quite a long time. In the days when I used to buy rather than stream and listen from my iTunes library, I scrobbled everything. These days, I stream a lot from Spotify and don't have that hooked up. I probably should sort that. I've just logged in and forgot that I've hooked up my Sonos account so it is scrobbling what I've been listening to at home. I've been on Last.fm since 2005 it seems. I'll look at my chart and see if it's not to embarrassing to share .

Cool, hit me up on last.fm if you find it not too embarrassing! The site has improved quite a bit in last couple of years and I love looking at stats like that!

I don't really know how Last FM works but I saw Sun Kil Moon are playing the RFH. Have you seen Mark Kozelek (and whatever band) play live before? What was he like? Have you heard the SKM/Jesu album? I really hope to see him play sometime.

No, I've never seen any of his incarnations live before. We are booked to go in July though and I can't wait. I was playing some Sun Kil Moon a few months back and my other half said she really liked it. I was quite surprised to be honest as I didn't think it would be her thing, so I looked online the next morning and spotted the RFH gig and booked it immediately!

Hope you both have a great time basking in the morose delights of Mark Kozelek. (I hope they play Richard Ramires died of Natural Causes) I really wish I had got to seen Red House Painters when they were together. Of all bands to reform, they'd be the one I like the most to see back together. I really love MK's song writing, but the guitar playing on RHP's to my ears added another dimension.

Apparently we have 'super' compatibility Cams. Aoife O'Donovan on your front page? the Staves? First Aid Kit? Sufjan Stevens? Super is right! Take a look at Sarah Jarosz if you haven't already. Build me up from Bones. I'm gonna Spotify some of your artists that I've not heard today at work. My Post Office customers thank you

Not come across Sarah Jarosz before. Will look her up on Spotify now.
I searched for one of your last.fm artists on Spotify last night and it linked me through to one of your public playlists. It looks like we listen to quite a few of the same Spotify playlists, which probably helps explain our super compatibility.

I am a bit of a Mark Kozelek fan. Luckily he loves Bristolians also. I quote from UK blues:
Off to Manchester, then to Bristol Had a show on a boat, it was half full Guy in the front, heckled me all night Skin was a sickly mix of grey, pink, and white Went back to my room, more riots on the news Homesick as f@~#, I got the UK blues
Bristol, Bristol Cobblestone streets, people missing teeth Bristol, Bristol Is this really what people eat?
I really must stop this heckling!

I always thought that Mark Kozelek was a bit niche and not many people in the UK knew of him. However, I've been surprised in recent conversations with people I know to find quite a few fans out there. Not just Red House Painters fans, but people who've followed him through all his projects.

I discovered her through a project she's doing with Aiofe O'Donovan and Sarah Watkins called I'm with Her, where they did a cover of a John Hiatt song called Crossing Muddy Waters. We now cover their cover in our bluegrass band. Running a Post Office isn't glamorous or rewarding, but it does allow me to listen to music all day long!

So does the wide variety of musical tastes on here mean you also play a variety of musical styles? I play acoustic folky stuff beardsallowed.bandcamp.com/ and post punk stuff wickies.bandcamp.com/ along with ambient electronica, though I don't have a link for that.

I play fingerstyle trad Scots / Irish tunes, bluegrass, singer songwriter, pop, folk, and rhythm backup for ceilidh band. So yes, a variety of styles although all acoustic.
