This was quoted in the latest Fylde newsletter and was originally published on Facebook by Duncan Campbell:
May my truss rod never slacken
May my truss rod never slacken, May my frets stay smooth and true, May my ball ends never slip off And my joints stick with the glue May my nuts be slotted perfectly And my saddle sit just right, Shaped and notched perfectly And set at the right height. And all my dinks and scratches From years of wild abuse Be testament to passion And love and righteous use. Take me in your arms, Metaphorically of course, And strum a song of love Bare your heart and gladly share Never doubt the power of music To touch the soul of those who care. Without the ones who listen, There's no point in being there.
A wonderful metaphor, especially for those of us of more mature years. I particularly like the section beginning "And all my dinks and scratches": some of the earlier lines are somewhat unnerving in their physical parallels.

Clever stuff is that brianr2...it was an especially bumper edition of the newsletter this month too - well worth a look if you don't already subscribe - www.fyldeguitars.com/news.html...it seems Roger will be off to collect his gong shortly. (Or indeed, at his present height.) Keith
