Hello I am new to posting on here but would like to relay my tale of woe. I decided to sell my left handed Martin 00-15 with AER pick up and Martin case on ebay as I went through the listing I was informed that the guitar would be eligible for global shipping and the listing was duly placed. To cut a long story short a gentleman from France bought the guitar for £680.00 and I posted it as instructed by ebay to their global shipping centre at a cost of £27.00 insured up to a value of £700.00 The guitar in its case was wrapped in bubble wrap and in a carboard box designed for guitars . A couple of days later The guy from France who has been great through this whole saga got in touch to say he had an email form ebay to say the guitar could not be delivered due to its size! I contacted ebay and they insisted this was correct and the buyer was to file for a unreceived item ,He got a refund before even applying for it and I got an email to say keep the money! so what happens the guitar? I ask ebay as they are now down in profit to the tune of £680.00 minus my fees . The reply was it will be liquidated as per the terms and conditions of the global selling programme I should have checked the dimensions before it was shipped as it was clearly to large, yet ebay should know the size of a guitar and they accepted it into their handling facility, anyway despite emailing and phoning and asking could they not return the guitar to me and take the money back they are now informing me it will be crushed which I doubt but it all smells a bit fishy Has anybody come across this before?
