Think it might be time to invest in one of these.
Had a try out of the Para DI and liked it very much. The Fishman seems comparable price and feature-wise but can't find any opportunity to try one out.
Looking for something to help with EQ/feedback control on stage and to improve the sound of a UST pickup (Baggs Element) and soundhole pickup (Fishman NEO-D Humbucker, which has a very low output that the Para DI boosted nicely).
Anyone have any experiences of/recommendations for either of these?
Thanks in advance!

The Fishman is a reliable but basic unit. For your purposes have a look at Headway.

I've got the Fishman Platinum Pro EQ (the old-style grey one). It's ok. It works best with a Fishman Humbucking soundhole pickup I've got. Doesn't work quite so well with K&K pickups, so I'm actually looking to get a K&K Preamp with XLR at some point. Pretty decent bit of kit though. The EQ is good once you get the hang of it.
Don't have any experience of the LR Baggs.

Although not my favourite , I do use a Baggs PADI, but only in the same fixed set up and venue every week using the same default settings established after much twiddling - I wouldn't fancy one as a carry it around everywhere preamp - I find it fiddly to get a good sound and with too many knobs which are too small. Good sounds definitely available, but not the quickest or most intuitive thing to use. Haven't used it with UST though.
(Glyn has a Headway UST which works well through his K&K preamp or my Orchid preamp. Both these help the USTness , but nothing will ever quite tame the typical UST attack or improve its weird response to playing dynamics.)

Doesn't seem to be any clear preference so far, so the search continues! andyhowell Is that the Headway EBD-2 you mean? That's a new one to add to my list! Any idea which shops might stock one in the Devon/Dorset/Hampshire area? The only stockist I've found is thomann.de but I'd really like to try one out before I buy. On the same note, anyone round the same area stocking the Fishman Platinum Pro EQ? Again, it would be great to try. The Baggs Para DI is the only one I've found to lay my hands on so far!

bobcarter Ring Headway up and speak to John. They are usually very helpful. The EDB-2 is a superb piece of kit sonically speaking.
