Fabulous, I'm a huge Kathryn Tickell fan, I firmly believe that she is the foremost folk musician this country currently has. The Northumbrian Voices concert being the best I have seen in many, many years. I remember booking her for the Orpington Folk Club many moons ago when she was quite a young girl, she made such a change from the finger-in-the-ear bearded woolly jumper wearing folkies of the day!
Add RT into the picture as well.
Colin

Heard her with a band in a barn at a Norwegian folk festival two years ago. Her father was also joining. Unforgettable event!

I love Northumbrian Small pipes and its repertoire I first came across them at school ,an arts master first Geordie I'd ever met and no one could understand him brought them in and explained how they imitated the lilting sound of curlew and lapwing on the moors. Decades later I told the story to the late Neil Smith piper from Whitley Bay , his comment was "Total bollocks " Not sure he was right

Particularly liked the slow one.
I'd never played with a northumbrian piper in a many years of sessions, but was back in Shetland last month and I sat in on two sessions with not one but two northumbrian pipers.
Enjoyed it immensely, their tone fits so well with acoustic guitar.
