I have just joined the forum in the past half hour at the suggestion of an already established member. My primary objective being to find a marketplace for some nice acoustics I have for sale. Upon reading the rules to making an advert in the Classified section I see I have to have made at least 15 contributions. My first contribution is centred around the fact that the only reason I have to sell my guitars is that I am self employed and suffered a nasty accident meaning I can't work/earn for four months. I have no insurance but what I do have is a collection of nice guitars. Now then; Insurance would have cost £50.00 per month over 17 years, that's £10,200.00. Had I taken that policy out, all I would have been entitled to was my time in hospital, two days. No payout for home convalescence. I reckon that if indeed the guitars do sell and help me financially through this then I will have had a far far better value experience than the insurance policy would have given. Yes, it's disappointing to have to sell but at least I've had the joy of owning and playing then. An insurance policy offered nothing but a two night stay in hospital for £10K. Have I missed something?

I think that's a very positive way to look at a lousy situation. I hope you recover very soon and get back to playing

Best of luck with your recovery and looking forward to seeing what guitars you have.
