Hi,
As I'm in Cumbria this weekend I thought I might go along to this at Rheged (link below). It looks like a relatively small show but some good exhibitors (Inc Fylde, Eggle, Pack, and also artists that I don't know and only £6.00 entry.
Has anyone else been to this show previous years and what did they think? And is anyone else going this year??
John

I've not been to the Cumbria one - but I've been to a few of the NorthWest shows. They're good for a mooch around and there's the added bonus of getting to meet RosieTGC, too, and try out her lovely instruments. Let her know you're a forum member, like

Hi, Just had a couple of enjoyable hours at this Show today. Very different from the larger London Acoustic Show that I go to and very different. No sign, to be expected, of the 'big' players i.e. guitar brands (Martin, Taylor, Collinge, Lowden etc) but instead a few smaller luthiers with a comparatively small range on display. Had a little play on a few and could have walked away with more than one if I'd won the pools. Hard to drag myself away from Fylde guitars in particular. Roger had a lovely second hand 'Magician' for sale, which was superb. Said hello to Rosie for Leo but the 'double the price' negotiation eliminated a possible sale. What made the show nice was the number of smaller stalls with all sorts of odds and ends; fretboards, tuners, cigar box guitars, spare parts, music books, old vinyl records, old guitar magazines and a wide array of strings, buttons, straps etc. There was also a large number of 'vintage' and 'used' guitars, amps, accessories. The dividing line between quality stuff and less so would need you to know what you were looking for. It was probably a pretty even mix between acoustic and those electric things. Had a quick listen to one of the acts in the theatre but it wasn't my style. For £6.00 it was well worth the visit if you are not travelling too far. John
