Hi Leo,
Don't apologise for being honest and to be frank, having seen some of his recent live stuff on youtube my expectations were low anyway, as I indicated in my post earlier. I'm going for the memories and will listen to the real Lightfoot on his CDs of which I have pretty much the lot. I 'do' about 25 of his songs for my own enjoyment.
Having reached my ripe old age (big birfday coming up the week before Halifax in September) I take a different view now on the price of seeing live music that I love; I can easily pay £50 for a relatively ordinary meal out for 2 which is gone pretty quickly; so £50 for a ticket is no big deal as long as I have it. So, low expectations it will be but its one that I wouldn't miss.

If any one fancy a mid evening out myself and jonnyshock are hosting an Open Mic tonight at the Irwell Works Brewery in Ramsbottom. Nice early start of 7pm (ish) so if you want to be involved but also want an early night you can do 19 volunteer singers last time so get down early to be sure of a spot. It's always a great night with the added benefit of being a pub over the top of a brewery !

Mr Apollo will be playing a special three-piece (P, P & I) Bank Holiday acoustic show at The Court Oak, Harborne this Sunday 28 August. Expect a few tunes that we don't usually get to play in our regular electric set as well as a few from the back catalogue dusted off for the occasion. Who'd have thought we knew so many Kinks tunes? Featuring our very special guest Mike Bethel. This is part of a Bank Holiday weekend of events at The Court Oak featuring DJ Rob on Friday and live music from Dangerous Dave (caution advised) on Saturday. Admission is free. www.facebook.com/events/1577986349171429/
