Guided into this from bookface. I think it's quite a clever idea and, although I usually play in standard tuning, I might use it for drop D to standard. Gadget

Looks quite clever but I guess that it will only raise the pitch from whatever is preset (i.e. make the string tighter). If this is correct then you have to (??) tune down to start with and use the gadget to tune back up to standard. I wouldn't go to this bother for simple drop D as its pretty quick to change anyway (I don't do anything where I need to change mid-song) and the few alternate tunings I try retune 3 or 4 strings, all down. Interested to hear from others who might use it in a different way.

Looks a bit of fun. Nice and simple to fit and use.
Can't see it being a great seller, though.

A bit like Scruggs-Keith D tuners on a banjo, except I don't think you can use them for string lengthening special effects like this:
I have a pair on my old banjo, but I admit I've rarely used them for quick retuning but only for the whoiiing! sound.

How many seconds does it take to go from E to D?

Inevitably there will still be some tuning to do when this gizmo is triggered and probably some intonation issues. Will it work properly with a capo?
I could imagine it being a reasonable idea on an electric guitar in a group situation but on solo acoustic guitar I'd trust my ears and fingers to do the job quickly enough and more accurately.
