Went off to a new open mic last night which is run by a fried of mine. He usually lets me do five or six songs so it is worth it. Up before me was a slightly strange ex-punk who I suspect had mental health issues. He arranged some stage lighting in a somewhat weird way, so that lights on the floor blasted at him and made him look all satanic like!
When I got up to play I realised I could see the damn fingerboard markers. On one song the between verses refrain starts down at fret 12. I had a rathe horrible experience of not being able to really see where my fingers were going. But as the hand made its way down the neck at theta second my had shielded the glare and miraculously the fret markers appeared. It was like some weird game.
As I suggested after, when organising any kind of gig it is helpful is the players can see what the hell they are doing!
Anyone else had some weird lighting experiences

..recent gigs with Glyn's band, Nuffsed, have tended to illuminate my gentleman's area with a sickly yellow glow from the spotlight stage left - next time I'll nick the red colour slide from the stage right spotlight and see if that's any less gruesome....

Keith I reckon it deserves its own spotlight
