I have an old student who needs a new (used) guitar. He currently has a Sigma (OM21) and is looking for a step up. His budget is £800 and would like a smaller bodied guitar, OM maximum size. He plays celtic, general fingerstyle and blues, standard and open tunings.
If anybody has a guitar they'd like to move on, I'd be keen to know. Also, if you know of anything suitable, let me know.
Ideally with a nut width of 44+mm.
I have a few weeks to find something as he's visiting from France at the start of April.
Thanks.
Jonny

Hard that but add a £100 and you should have some Larrivee options. I'd look at Faith as a well!

Thanks Andy - I'll look into them. Not much on Gumtree at the moment. Quite happy to travel, as Nicolas will see a bit of the UK at the same time!

Guitar Guitar are having a clearance sale at the moment. Wunjo in Soho have quite a few - you'd need to visit for feel and sound of course. But if he is prepared to move around I reckon he will find something.

Hi Jonny
At the moment I have my Collings 120-fret advertised but if that doesn't sell I may consider selling my other 12-fret which is a Chris Perkins. It's this guitar, in the clip. I think this clip says it far better than I ever could with words and photos!! :0
Cheers

Thanks Guy and Richard, I'll pass those on - both look incredible. Tempted by the Perkins (if you decide to sell it) myself!

After much thought last night I have decided to go ahead and put the Perkins up for sale if anyone is interested!! I can supply details upon request and I was thinking about £675 including an old 60s generic guitar case. Guy

Jonny I tried a Lakewood recently advertised on e-bay, mint condition Mahogany / Spruce. The tone was great and the action was also spot on. Its a 2002 model The neck was a little fat for my liking and I already have similar guitars that sound the same. It is located on the Wirral, I could pass on the seller phone number as I don't think it was sold. Advertised at 850.00 but I am sure he would take 700.00 - 750.00

Well, Nicolas and I collected the gorgeous Perkins parlour yesterday. Very fine sound and surprisingly warm. The best thing about it, from Nicolas' point of view, is the standard scale-length and 46mm nut, difficult to find on a small guitar. He is chuffed to bits. Thanks surfguy13 for your hospitality and hope to see you again. Cheers Jonny
