Hi folks - insignificant birthday approaching and my old tribal Planet soft case is finally dying. Can't replace it and my missus is looking to buy me a gig bag. She laughed when I suggested she spend £200 on a Mono, so can anyone recommend anything for general use that won't break the bank but wouldn't be awful for sticking a Gibson dread, Lowden O (Jumbo) or Fylde Falstaff in? (so will need to be at least dreadnaught size)
Considering the Boston (25mm) or Tomandwill (20mm) but hoping there is something better out there.

I have the Mono OM which I am very pleased with. It gives good protection for my 000 guitar and the many storage pockets are very useful.

I would go for hard foam rather than a soft gig bag - I've been using a super light Adam Black cheapie for years and it seems to offer much more protection than a gig bag plus as it has the added benefit of the thief-discouraging Adam Black logo on the front: www.guitar.co.uk/adam-black-acoustic-guitar-caseI'm not sure what your jumbo dimensions are, it is possible that this may not work for them as it is rigid. I play dreads and they all fit fine.

I have a hard foam case but I really need a soft case for getting on and off buses, in cabs and often carrying one on my back while lugging a hard case and pedal board in my hands

I've used one for general carrying around locally for about 7 years now and it seems to be holding up well. Even the zips haven't given up yet. Lowden O25 fits fine. Keith

I have a Gator GoPro. It is a very good case. It has a little rain cover in a pocket on the outside of the neck. Loads of pockets and a great deal of padding. The straps are strong and easily adjustable.
It is a bit heavy, though. Fully loaded, it has to be on the shoulders for a comfortable carry.
I recommend it as a good compromise between protection and ease of carrying.

Looks decent, but doesn't have a neck support block I'm replacing a brilliant but now knackered (external stitching all blown) semi-rigid tribal Planet case which has an array of pads, supports etc. which all velcro into place and hoping I can recycle those.

Don't know if there is such a thing but does it need to be waterproof? always helpful at festivals. there are various claims of waterproofness. Nearly all of them are cordura or something similar, or "ballistic" nylon. All fairly waterproof in their basic state and I'm sure a zap with boot or tent waterproofing spray would buy me time to make it to the nearest pub.
