I had an Ovation once and I think they were referred to as salad bowls. You're probably right, i always thought the ovation was the salad spoon😂 i remember seeing a video of a multiac being made and it looked a bit like one of those multi compartment wooden salad bowls with a soundboard glued on.....😂 Rob

They do have a plastic sound and I was dissapointed and sent it back. In regards to the Takamine I put mine for sale a few weeks ago but decided it was too good to sell and that `i would probably not find another one. If you check out Pat Coldrick you get a feel for it. He uses a stereo set up and two tc electronics pedals. Plastic sound? Are you referring to the Yamaha silent? No I was referring to the Godin Multiac Steel. Plastic sound was a strange choice of adjectives but I couldn't think of anything else. To me the sound was indeed unique but it was neither acoustic sounding or electric - basically it's an acquired taste.
